Sopheap Lao is NOT a MIT or Cambridge graduate, he will make you believe that he is, but that is untrue. Much like his educational credentials, his professional experience is suspect. Sopheap is a master of deception, some would say a charlatan or a scammer.


Many of us have been deceived by this man. Proud, he will attempt to woo you with claims of technical proficiency, and will show off the list of his previous employers. Once he feels he has you in his clutch, he will not hesitate to put you down considering that he believes himself an expert in absolutely every field, from IT, to development, to design... He seduces his audience through his chosen vocabulary and a high flow of information.


He has an incredible talent for bamboozling those around him professionally. He lies, he manipulates, and is ready to do anything to achieve his ends.

This behavior makes him an unparalleled predator.


He is perfectly capable of disparaging his former collaborators in front of his new victims, never ceasing to discredit those he previously deceived.


However, he needs to surround himself with professionals in order to make up for his own obvious shortcomings.


In terms of professional results, it is common for him to radically fail in his mission. His resume speaks for itself. His diplomas and credentials are uncertain..

His SAP credentials, his explanations seem legit but we never saw any application, any line of code, any MVP… He used me and a couple of my friends to get into the HK fintech ecosystem to scam a few people to invest into his company. I lost 100k USD when he escaped to France (that was before he absconded to Dubai…am sure he will leave to another country!) with unpaid salaries, bills, and fleeced investors."

Truthfully, our objective is undetermined. All of us participants have been deceived by this individual. We may have lent money that Sopheap promised to reimburse, or we may have done some work that he never compensated. There may be other misdeeds. What is certain is that we are all victims of this man. The authors of this website have not determined whether the objective is to simply keep this site up to name and shame Sopheap Lao, or whether to obtain reparation for what he owes. Or maybe this initiative is the start of a protest movement to confound scammers and get some form of retribution. When our connected world gives swindlers the opportunity to relocate constantly and escape laws, regulations and the consequences of their actions, then it may be time to turn the tables on the abuser and use the online world to our advantage.
